Event Details

Join us for an autumn bird walk in Utterslev Mose and experience the birdlife as migration is underway and the wetland changes character. We start at Mosehuset and will walk past the viewing platform and continue towards Langholmen, where reedbeds, open water, shrubs and trees offer good chances of seeing both resting birds and birds on the move. In September, small birds such as flycatchers, warblers and tits may be active in the bushes and trees as they feed before continuing their journey.

With a bit of luck, we may also see birds of prey such as common buzzard, red kite, hen harrier or osprey – and white-tailed eagle is occasionally seen in the area. Along the water’s edge, a kingfisher may appear as a blue flash, while geese, ducks, grebes, coots and gulls are often found on the lakes. Along the way, we will talk about the green corridors around the marsh, including the connection to Kagsmosen, and share tips on where and when to look for birds. The walk is led by Nikolaj Noel Christensen, a DOF bird guide with many years of local experience, who has also guided other bird walks in the area, including activities for children and young people.

Please bring binoculars if you have any.

The event is free and registration is not necessary.
